Use organic vegetables, meat, poultry, fruit, spices, dairy, and other ingredients whenever possible! These are so much better for your health, and also protect the environment and animals from misuse and cruel treatment. Most grocery stores now carry organics. Another tip, with beef, buy "grass fed" for optimum nutritional benefits - your body will thank you :)

Mom's Meatloaf recipe

1 lb. ground beef
1 egg
Onion, cut up (to taste)
Seasoned bread crumbs (Italian)
Salt/pepper

Mix all ingredients in a bowl (by hand). Move to casserole dish, or loaf pan. Top with ketchup.

Bake 350 - 1 hour or until center is not pink.

* if you like your meatloaf drier, use more breadcrumbs; for a moister meatloaf, use less.

Vegetarian Alternative for Ground Beef

The best product out there for making meatloaf, meatballs, tacos, sloppy joe, etcetera, is Gimme Lean Ground Beef Style. Healthy and unbelievably delicious. You should try it! (I have found that you can skip the eggs - in meatloaf and meatballs - when you use Gimme Lean; see what you think.)

If it comes out dry they are done. If not only 5 minutes more. They are really a nice bar. Our favorite at Xmas time. Love, Aunt DoDo
